The Mission
Modernizing the Garage-Built Revolution
My name is Jake, and I’m building out of the salty west desert of Utah. I didn't start Ultralight Plans™ to just sell drawings; I started it because I was tired of the "Aviation Tax" and the "1970s Napkin Plans" that have held back the Part 103 community for decades.
For years, I looked at "affordable" designs and saw the same problems: Vague Instructions, Heavy Engineering, and Outdated Materials. I knew there was a better way.
At Ultralight Plans™, we are redefining the "Homebuilt" label. By combining Modern CAD Precision with a Hybrid Wood-Composite build philosophy, we’re creating aircraft that are Stiffer, Stronger, Lighter, and Actually Affordable—sourcing high-quality structural materials locally for under $2,000.
The "True-Scale" Guarantee
I don’t do digital PDFs that are easy to pirate and impossible to print accurately. When you buy a set of plans for the Carbon Canyon™ or the Canyon Bolt™, you get what I use in my own shop: True 1:1 Full-Size Templates. If you can tape two sheets of paper together, you can build a perfectly straight airplane. No scaling, no guessing.
Why the "Canyon" Series?
I design for the desert. These planes are built for the Utah backcountry—with integrated "Zero-Bolt" landing gear, 26-inch fat tires, and the high-altitude authority of the Polini Thor 303.
Stop Dreaming. Start Cutting. Fly Carbon.
