They say building an airplane takes thousands of hours and a decade of your life. I say that's because the industry is still using 1970s tech and 1940s assembly logic.

Welcome to the 8-day Milestone:

The photo you see here isn't a kit from a factory. It's the result of 8 days in my garage using hand-selected Douglas Fir, precision CAD, and a new way of thinking. This is the Canyon Lightning™ prototype and it represents a massive evolution in how we get into the sky.

The power of 1:1 precision

Most plans come on a few sheets of paper with "suggested" measurements. You spend 50% of your time with a tape measure and the other 50% wondering if your cuts are square.

The Lightning way: Every part of this airframe - from the wing ribs to the horizontal stabilizer - is built over full scale 1:1 plans. If the wood fits the line, it's perfect. No guessing, no scaling errors; just rapid, accurate production.

The "Instruction" gap is over

I've looked at the legendary plans out there. They're great, they're legendary. But most are a dozen blurry drawings and a "good luck" from the designer. My goal with Ultralight Plans™ is to provide a detailed, high-def illustrated instruction booklet that explains every step.

You won't just read about "lashing a spar mount", you'll see the exact resin-to-carbon ratio and the clamp placement in crystal clear detail.

Aerospace tech on a hardware store budget
